The lifestyle changes that I have introduced to my eating habits have changed dramatically from December 2006 ( I hate saying that word diet, so you wont be hearing that from me at all).
I eat for energy – I went from 1000 calories to 1500 calories to now 1800 calories per day, and when you think of healthy food – there is so much you can eat and still stick to your calories intake.
The old Artie would eat a packet of Tim Tam’s in one sitting – well that would have been my calorie intake for the whole day, and that would certainly not give me the energy or nutrition I would need to workout.
I had to totally re-educate myself about eating, Andrew my personal trainer would say to me it’s 90% in the kitchen and 10% in the gym.I can truly say there is nothing I miss – oh, yes of course mum’s curries… Yum Yum, however everything in moderation…..
I have a wonderful dietitian Susie that has helped me along the way, Thanks Susie, you have been an amazing source of dietary education.
I took the old fashion approach by counting calories and exercising, there was no magic pill, or fast fix, just plain hard work.Overweight people tend to want to drop there weight in a week, however it’s a journey remember a life style change is a change for life and a change for the better.
